Provider Pocket Games Soft is a very capable slot provider that enjoys huge popularity within the Asian market. Having tested a large number of their games myself, I can confirm that they do regularly produce some great games, so it’s encouraging to see that they are beginning to receive some well-deserved recognition for their efforts within Western slot players’ minds. Let’s see what they have for us today as we review their latest title, Werewolf’s Hunt. It’s a high volatility, six-reel slot featuring a maximum win of 10,000x and an RTP of 96.75%.
As the title of this game would suggest, a hairy, scary, man-wolf hybrid is the star of the show, and he can be seen roaming a remote village setting under a full moon as the local residents cower in terror. The popular cascading reels mechanism is also employed, removing any symbols involved in a win and replacing them with others that fall from the top of the grid. This will be important as you look to build multiple winning combinations to make full use of the multiplier symbols that can drop onto the reels and award values ranging from x2 to x20. There is also a bonus feature to play for; land four scatter symbols, and you’ll be taken to a new screen where you’ll have three re-settable lives and hope to land cash values.
I think we all have a bit of werewolf somewhere within us, some more than others, but it would be advisable to suppress your beast mode to avoid any repercussions. If you really can’t hold it in, and that full moon is calling, maybe you could scratch that itch on the Werewolf’s Hunt demo slot; it’s available to play free of charge below!

For those less familiar with the developer of PG Soft’s work, you’re in for a treat, as I have some great recommendations for other slots they have produced. Check them out; I’m almost certain you’ll be pleasantly surprised by their quality. First up is its Rooster Rumble, a medium volatility, six-reel, four-row video slot with an RTP of 96.75% and a potential maximum win of 20,000x. The werewolf seen in today’s review would have to be brave enough to tangle with these kung-fu chickens! Or, if it's bigger win potential you’re after, Legendary Monkey King could be the game for you. It’s a medium volatility, five-reel, four-row video slot with an RTP of 96.71%. There was no monkeying around when they programmed in the potential maximum win here, as it sits at a massive 50,000x! Coming up, we’ll take a more detailed look into the features of Werewolf’s Hunt, starting with the pays section.
The top symbol featured on the paytable is the Werewolf Hunter, and each winning combination of six will return 2.5x the bet. Next, it’s the Scared Woman, paying 1.5x, and the Wolf at 1x. The least valuable premium symbols are the Boot and the Sunglasses, worth 0.6x and 0.4x, respectively. The royal symbols make up the lower pays, with the Ace and King returning 0.25x for a completed line of six, whilst the Queen and Jack share payouts of 0.2x for a winning combo of six. Relatively low values here, then, but with 10,000 ways and multipliers on offer, I guess they have to be.
The staking options on Werewolf's Hunt start from as low as €0.20 and rise to as high as €100.00. There are over 20 options within this range, so players of both low and high budgets should comfortably find a stake to play at that is relatable to their bankroll.
Werewolf’s Hunt operates on a six-reel grid, with its rows arranged in a 4-5-5-5-5-4 formation. There are a total of 10,000 payways available, and within this system, there is no need to worry about fixed paylines, as matching a minimum of three corresponding symbols anywhere from left to right, commencing on the leftmost reel, will result in a win. The cascading reels system is also utilised, with any symbols that are involved in a win being removed from the grid, which then creates additional space for further symbols to drop in from the top of each grid, offering the opportunity for multiple wins and cascades to take place within a single game round.
During any main game spin, one or more multiplier values may drop onto the reels, replacing the paytable symbol within any grid position. The values of these multipliers can range from between x2 to x20. At the end of each spin, the values of any winning combinations will be multiplied by the value of any multipliers that have landed. If more than one multiplier value is present, then the sum of their values will be applied to any wins.
Four or more bonus scatter symbols landing on the grid during any one spin will trigger the bonus feature, awarding three starting spins. During this bonus, only prize value, blue moon, red moon, and yellow moon symbols will appear on the reels.
At the start of the feature, all bonus scatter symbols will transform into a stake multiplier value of either 1x, 2x, or 3x. The spins will then commence, and you’ll hope to land more of the above symbols, which will reset the spin count back to three each time. All moon symbols have a series of dots beneath them, which signifies how many spins it will take to activate their respective feature.
Once activated, these symbols will remain in position, but their counters will reset to zero. The blue moon adds +1 prize value to each symbol on the screen, the red moon absorbs the values of all other symbols on the screen, and the yellow moon will double the value of three randomly selected symbols on the grid. The bonus feature will end if the spin counter reaches zero.
The base game on Werewolf’s Hunt is great fun and seems to pay very well. The combination of the cascading reels, a large number of payways, and multipliers dropping in can result in some huge hits. The graphics are also very impressive, as often seen on a PG Soft title.
On the downside, I personally found the bonus round to be slightly dry. It’s been done so many times before, and I think I would have preferred to have seen an enhanced version of the base game instead. However, it does have good potential thanks to the various functions of the moon symbols, and some people may enjoy that type of bonus. In summary, it is a very playable game, but not the best PG Soft have produced, in my view.
